Within the ancient Chinese imperial court, a 17-year-old girl named Maomao was abducted months ago, thrust into a life of servitude in the emperor's palace. Despite her lowly status, she maintains her inquisitive and practical nature, determined to endure until her term of service concludes. However, everything changes when she learns of the dire illness afflicting the emperor's two infants. Fueled by her background as a pharmacist raised in the impoverished red-light district, Maomao decides to intervene covertly.
Although Maomao endeavors to remain anonymous, her actions draw the attention of Jinshi, a powerful eunuch who recognizes her exceptional skills. As a result, Maomao finds herself within the inner sanctum of the emperor's court, where her unique blend of knowledge and eccentricity earns her a reputation for unraveling complex medical enigmas.
