Under the blue sky I spread my arms wide The proof that I longed for both doubt and pain Let's go at our own pace You can trust me anytime If it's a passing shower It will pass someday If you have a heart that holds dreams Always free Someone, you know Because someone will laugh with me This melody Is pointing to the light I can become a shining smile today as well
Look up at the wide sky (look up at the sky) I tried taking a deep breath (looking up at the sky) I want to meet And know many things Let's go at our own pace Even on stormy days, don't be blown away If you weather it Someday you'll find it If your heart knows tears Then surely freedom Someone, you know Will pat your shoulder This melody Brings out the light Tomorrow will be reflected in your sparkling eyes If you have a heart that carries dreams Always free Someone, you know Because someone will laugh with you This melody Is calling forth the light Even on a crooked road, it's okay now You can take off with a radiant smile
Each year at Shirahamazaka High School, a special recital gives music students the chance to perform before industry professionals and distinguished guests. Determined to sing in her final recital, third-year student Konatsu Miyamoto is devastated when the vice principal forbids her from participating due to a mistake she made the previous year.
Unwilling to give up, Konatsu hatches a bold alternative: if she can’t join the official choir, she’ll start her own singing club with her friends. But the plan proves more challenging than she expected. For starters, her friend Wakana Sakai has sworn off singing altogether—and two members aren’t enough to form a proper club. With only a month remaining before the recital, Konatsu must gather enough members and prepare in time for one of the school’s biggest events, hoping to graduate without any lingering regrets.
