As flower petals wilt, transforming into lifeless ashes, the young duke is cruelly reminded of the dreadful power bestowed upon him—a lethal touch that extinguishes all life. Ostracized by his own family, he is banished to a life of near seclusion. Yet, he finds solace in the presence of the manor's devoted butler, Rob, and the flirtatious maid, Alice, who alleviate some of his misery.
As the duke's affection for Alice blossoms, so does his growing frustration with the constraints imposed by his unfortunate ability. Determined to break the curse that has haunted him for years, he embarks on a quest not only for his own liberation but also to safeguard Alice, fully aware of the heartache caused by denying the touch of a beloved.
