The five boys Rei Ichidō, Gō Hiyakoshi, Kiyoshi Ise, Hitoshi Ōma, and Dai Monohoshi all attend Ichiō Middle School—at least in name. Having repeated a grade and each possessing wildly eccentric, over-the-top personalities, they stand out so much that they’re known schoolwide as the legendary oddball group, the “Kimengumi.”
Transfer student Yui Kawawa witnesses Kimengumi’s antics together with her classmate Chie Uru, and soon finds herself intrigued by them. Before long, she begins spending time with the group.
Ichiō Middle School is also home to a variety of other colorful factions:
the popular ladies’ men “Iro Otoko-gumi,” led by Shō Kirede;
the delinquent gang “Bangumi,” led by Yō Nihiruda;
the athletic “Udegumi,” led by Kai Undō;
and the tough-girl biker-style group “Onnagumi,” led by Jako Amano.
As time passes in the blink of an eye after their fateful meeting, the group soon welcomes the arrival of a brand-new spring—.
