In the whimsical Penguin Village, humans coexist with talking animals and objects. Among them is Senbei Norimaki, an inventor driven by the ambitious goal of crafting the ultimate robot girl.
His creation, Arale, however, falls short of perfection by most standards. Despite her remarkable strength, she suffers from severe nearsightedness and a lack of common sense. While her intentions are pure, Arale's actions often lead to chaos and inconvenience for her neighbors in the village.
